If you are in Las Vegas this week for Microsoft Inspire, you can pick up a hard copy from us at our booth (#1622). The Fifty Five and Five team will be there, handing out the report and letting you know what’s new for 2018 when it comes to competing with the very best Microsoft Partner marketers. We can talk you through our key findings, how we ranked the partners, and why we think inbound marketing is so important for today’s businesses.

What is the Top 50 Inbound Marketing Excellence report?
Every year we rank the digital marketing efforts of Microsoft Partners and publish a report that celebrates the best marketing in the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN). The only report of its kind, the Top 50 analyses and ranks Microsoft Partners based on their blogging output, website quality, and social media engagement.
We use three independent tools to measure these essential components to digital marketing: Maya for blogging, Sitebeam for websites, and Kred for social media. It is through your website, blog and social media presence that you communicate your message, interact with customers, reach new audiences and, ultimately, drive leads.
For the second-consecutive year the report begins with a foreword by Microsoft’s Gavriella Schuster, who sees the report as an excellent opportunity to celebrate the hard work Microsoft Partners are putting into their digital marketing. In the foreword, Gavriella says that a strong marketing presence across all channels is now essential in an era of increased competition for Microsoft Partners:
“It is time to be bold and loud. In order to cut through all the competition and the noise, our partners that have started their digital transformation journey have found success being strategic and persistent in how they communicate to customers and potential clients.”
Gavriella also added:
“I think you’ll find this report very helpful… [It] showcases the best marketing going on in Microsoft’s partner channel and celebrates the hard work of the teams using inbound marketing to engage their audiences and provide real value and insight.”
The Inbound Marketing Excellence report is more than just a ranking list. We encourage Microsoft Partners to use the report as a benchmarking guide. They can use the websites, blogs and social channels of the Top 50 as examples to follow. What’s more, the report is packed with insights, analysis and interviews to give a full picture of what is required for marketing excellence.

Microsoft Inspire takes place from the 15th-19th July in Las Vegas. We’ll be there all week at booth #1622. Feel free to pop by to say hello to our team and discuss the latest announcements from Microsoft, the latest in digital marketing and, of course, the Top 50 report.
We also recommend attending our founder Chris Wright’s sessions in The Commons. Chris will be giving three talks at the conference, exploring many of the themes touched on in the report, including the specific marketing challenges facing Microsoft Partners, the science behind marketing and the value of social selling.
These sessions will take place on Monday 16th July at 12:00PM and 1:00PM and on Tuesday 17th July. We will be handing out reports at his talk too, so it’s another great opportunity to grab a copy and find out where your company ranked for its digital marketing efforts. We hope to see you there.
I’m not in the report, what gives?
The Inbound Marketing Excellence report lists the top 250 Microsoft Partners based on their website, social, and blogging, which are each weighted to create an overall score. The top 50 get special mention in the report, as it’s a remarkable achievement. But it’s worth noting that we ranked 39,000 partners this year. So, any company that makes it into the top 250 positions can consider themselves in the top 0.6% of Microsoft Partner marketers!
That also means, if you didn’t feature in the report this year (or even if you dropped out) don’t be disheartened. This is, yet again, our most competitive year and there are only so many places available. If you’d like to see your company in 2019’s Top 50 now is the time to put in place a great marketing strategy. This year’s report has some tips and ideas you can start using today!
